[OPINION] – What does Iran attacking Israel Mean?

Big question now is, what did Iran achieve? Far from what many would have us believe, Iran has achieved a deterrence capacity. Despite the collective efforts of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Britain, France, USA and the entire Israeli armed forces, some BMs still managed to get through and hit Nevatim AB, the home of Israel's F-35 fleet.

What Iran has managed to do is simple enough, it has declared to Israel "we can hit you where it matters anytime we want". They then end by "This matter is closed but if you respond, we will launch even harsher attacks."

So now the pressure is on Tel Aviv. Bibi will be hard pressed to explain to Israel what he intended to achieve with his strike on the Iranian consulate and his regional allies

will press him not to retaliate for fear of landing onto the Iranian hit list.

My take of the Iranian attack on Israel:

1. This signals a power shift in the ME. Iran has now established itself as a peer to Israel, restoring confidence in its proxies & inspiring others to ally with them.

2. This sets the stage for a major war in the future.

Israelis are proud and they won't let this pass unanswered.

3. Also, expect upheavals in Jordan, Saudi Arabia etc. The public will definitely be angry at their kings interfering in what they consider a just war.
