China has successfully completed the first-ever drone delivery tests on Mt. Everest from the Nepali side. In collaboration with Nepalese Airlift, 8KRAW, and local guides, DJI has made history with the world’s first drone delivery on Mount Everest. This April test showcased the potential for drones to swiftly and safely deliver supplies to mountaineers.

The DJI FlyCart 30, capable of carrying up to 33 pounds (15 kg), was used for this achievement. It successfully operated under the extreme high-altitude conditions of Everest. During the tests, the FlyCart 30 transported three oxygen bottles and 1.5 kg of other supplies from Everest Base Camp (17,389 feet) to Camp 1 (19,685 feet). On its return flight, it carried back trash from Camp 1.

The drone skillfully navigated the treacherous Khumbu Icefall, one of the most dangerous parts of the climb.
