[Opinion] The DIFFERENCE between RONALDO and MESSI
Even though I’m a hardcore Lionel Messi fan, I no longer care about his football career.
He has achieved everything that needs to be achieved in football and has cleared every doubt that needs to be cleared.
Once he left Europe, I took it as a sign that he’s done with the game and I reduced how closely I used to follow him.
There’s nothing else left for him to prove. Even if he ends up scoring a million goals in the MLS, I wouldn’t bat an eyelid because I see it as him enjoying his retirement.
The MLS is an inferior league, just like the Saudi Arabian league.
That’s why I feel so surprised seeing Ronaldo fans going over the moon with whatever he does in the Saudi Arabian league.
For the love of God and country, those two guys are no longer playing at the highest level anymore.
In my opinion, Messi is just joking around at Inter Miami and helping the image of the American league while getting ready for retirement, and Ronaldo is just having fun at Al Nassr while improving the image of the Saudi Arabian league.
Giving so much attention and relevance to whatever those two do in the Saudi and American leagues is an insult to all the players in Europe who are playing at the highest level, especially those in Europe’s top 5 leagues, going head-to-head with the best in the world at their prime.
One left Madrid for Juve, where he was the best player, then went to United, where he was the best player,
and now is at Al Nassr, where he is the best player.
The other one has been disappointing since he left Barcelona. He failed and was outshined at PSG and is now failing in America, a league where teams don't get relegated. We love Messi too, but we have to be logical to avoid sounding stupid.
